Symmetricom Selects Data Edge As Irish Distributor

Data Edge, the application and network performance management company, today announced a distribution deal with Symmetricom, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYMM), a worldwide leader in precise time and frequency technologies that accelerate the deployment and enable the management of next generation networks. Under the terms of the deal, Data Edge has been awarded Irish distributor rights to sell Symmetricom’s portfolio of time and frequency products and services, which are currently used by many of the world’s largest telecommunications providers.

Precise timing is critical to many types of advanced telecommunications networks, including wireless and wireline, next generation IP and cable, and secure government communications networks. Symmetricom has pioneered products that have helped to define the world’s timing standards and provide network reliability for business users and consumers across the globe.

As the leading Irish provider of network performance management tools, Data Edge was chosen to drive sales for Symmetricom’s products in Ireland. As a value added reseller, Data Edge will implement, support and manage the complete rollout of synchronisation systems for carriers and enterprise. Ninety-five percent of telecom companies in Ireland are currently working with Data Edge, providing Symmetricom an existing gateway to product sales, maintenance contracts, synchronisation audits and training.

Symmetricom’s synchronisation and timing solutions play a significant role in maximizing network efficiency and quality of service for the end-user. This is especially critical for service providers given the explosion of demanding IP-enabled services such as voice over IP (VoIP), triple play, streaming video and IPTV.
