Twenty four members of XLN Telecom staff will be taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Peak Challenge this September, to raise £5000 for the charity.
Four teams of six will spend two days conquering the Peak District’s toughest terrain, and at the end the teams must build a raft and attempt to cross a lake.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award supports over 275,000 people aged 14-25 every year, and aims to inspire young people in their self-development. The charity aims to enable young people can reach their full potential, whatever their circumstances.
The programme enables young people to develop through personal experience, by inspiring them to spend up to two years volunteering, learning a skill, getting fit, and undertaking an expedition. The result is the world’s leading achievement award for young people, recognised by employers and universities alike.
